Project Launch:

The community of Palmar Grande, with its colorful wooden houses that dot the side of the dirt road leading to a community that is accessible only by motorcycle, has limited water and plumbing infrastructure. Those colorful houses are in need of pit latrines and education about water use, sanitation and hygiene. With World Connect's support, Palmar Grande's most needy families will receive training in hygiene, cholera prevention and latrine maintenance. Nine of the area's brightest youth have been selected as latrine construction apprentices and will be able to support families, ensure latrines are built to last, and lead the construction of future latrine building project.
