Beekeeping for improved quality of life

With $4,355.23 co-investments from Mudzi Connect, the Chigwenembe Cooperative aims to strengthen their beekeeping business by purchasing additional beehives, honey processing machinery, bee suits, and packaging materials, thereby increasing productivity and market demand for their honey. Additionally, members of the cooperative will receive training in beekeeping to enhance their beekeeping skills. Upon completion, the project is expected to improve the living standards of the 96 cooperative's members of which 58 of them are women.
Project Update: 4-2-25
With guidance from Mphatso Bokosi, a Global Health Corps Alumni, Chimwang’ombe cooperative has procured and installed 50 beehives out of which 10 have already been colonized. 65 members of the group (41 females and 24 males) have been trained in beekeeping management, harvesting and processing readying them for harvesting when time comes. With this training, the group is ready to push its income generation from honey production to another level.
