In 2009 World Connect’s Kids to Kids program awarded a $500 grant to support a service learning and volunteerism project within the San Martin Elementary School in Costa Rica. “Ninos Embajadores Para Cambio” (Children Ambassadors for Change) taught students in sixth grade the service learning methodology, with the goal being that by December 2009 70% of the sixth grade class will have learned the service learning methodology and created and implemented at least one project to improve the school. This project helped students on several levels, providing them with valuable skills that will stay with them for the rest of their lives and imparting the value of volunteering on them.Explore other Projects
