Construction of Community Early Childhood Development Center (ECD Center)

Funding for this project will be used to construct a two-roomed building that will serve as an Early childhood Development center (ECD) in Gisovu village of Mugano sector in Nyamagabe district. The ECD will have a kitchen for preparing meals for the children who spend half day at the ECD as well as sanitation facilities for the children and caregivers. The ECD is expected to recieve atleast 80 children from the community aged 3-6 years of age.
Currently, children from the village are hosted by home-based ECD which can only accomodate about 20 children leave others to spend their days on the streets or alone at home at risk of poor feeding and abuse.
Presence of a well-functioning ECD will help children to be safe, well-cared for while their parents are out for work as well as improving early learning for the children.
