Environmental Guardians
Year: 2010
Country: Peru
Project Status: Funded
Impact Sector: Environment
Project Investment: $499.70
Project Launch:
The Environmental Guardians project led to the founding of a club for kids who were interested in learning about their environment and how to take care of it. The club’s focus areas were proper trash management, recycling, and reforestation. Each meeting began with an educational experience related to one of these three areas, such as a presentation by a local professional, viewing a documentary or a field trip. Meetings ended with peer discussion groups about what was learned and how these concepts can be applied in the community. The project accomplished its two primary goals; first, to establish the Environmental Guardians as role models for the community and second, to create behavior change in the community related to the disposal of trash.Explore other Projects
