Pineapple Farms
Project Launch: 6-16-16
This project aims to increase livelihoods among women’s groups in San Vicente, a low-income municipality, by providing start up capital and raw materials to grow pineapple farms. Through business trainings and value-added workshops, the women will sell pineapples, pies, and jams, generating an income to support their families and reinvest into their small business.
Progress Update: 11/29/2016
Several of the participants have harvested their first crop of pineapples and have begun seeding their second series. Over the next few months, vendors will ferry their fruit to market to sell with the aim of developing sufficient profit to develop their operation.
